Admissions Process

Christ the King has a four step admissions process: 

1. Application 
We accept applications from current 8th graders. Click here to download application or pick one up at 5088 W. Jackson Blvd.  The online application will be saved in Adobe Acrobat PDF format.  You may download a free copy of Acrobat Reader at www.adobe.com.  Christ the King does not require an admission test.  The application must be complete and include all requested attachments when it is submitted.  Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.  Applications can be dropped off or mailed to 5088 West Jackson Blvd, Chicago, IL 60644.   Completed applications will be reviewed as received.  The application deadlines are as follows:

• Admissions application submission opens September 6^th, 2011
• Early Application Deadline: January 13^th, 2012
• Application Deadline: March 23^rd, 2012
• Final Application Deadline: May 11^th, 2012 (CTK will not consider applications from students who have not successfully completed 8th grade)

Christ the King is now accepting transfer students on a case by case basis.  Please call the Admissions Office for more information.

2. Interview
8th graders who successfully complete and submit their applications by the deadline will move into this second phase of the admissions process.  Each candidate and their parent(s)/guardian(s) will be interviewed by a team of Christ the King staff members.  Parents and/or guardians are required to attend and participate in the interview.  Interviews will last approximately 30 minutes.  The Admissions Committee will meet after the interview session and decision letters will be mailed to the students.  Interviews will be scheduled on the following days:

• January 14^th, 2012; 9AM-2PM
• February 4^th, 2012; 9AM-2PM
• April 14^th, 2012; 9AM-2PM
• May 19^th,2012; 9AM-2PM

3. Mandatory Financial Aid Workshop 
Parents or guardians of applicants who are invited to interview must complete the financial aid application at the time of their interview.  The Financial Aid Workshops will also be scheduled on the interview dates listed above and last for about 20 minutes.  The Financial Aid Workshops are designed to assist the parents with proper completion of the financial aid application.  Financial aid applications will only be distributed at Financial Aid Workshops, and must be completed on site.  Accepted students will not be allowed to register if their parents have not successfully completed the financial aid application.

4. Registration 
Accepted 8th graders who plan to attend Christ the King for their freshman year must register to secure their spot for the 2012-2013 school year.  The non-refundable registration fee of $100 must be paid by money order or personal check only.  CTK will not accept cash payments.  Christ the King will only register 150 students for the freshman class of 2016.  Registrations will be received from accepted students on a first come first serve basis.  Christ the King will not have a waiting list or lottery for students who fail to complete the admissions process.

Please note:  Accepted students who successfully complete the four step admissions process must also successfully complete the Corporate Work-Study Program (CWSP) Summer Training Institute.  Students who fail to register will not be allowed to participate in the CWSP Summer Training Institute.
