2017 Graduation Day Celebration

On June 9th, the extraordinary accomplishments of the 72 newest Christ the King Jesuit College Prep graduates were celebrated by over 1,000 supporters packed into the Christ the King gymnasium. Those in attendance included not only family members and faculty, but also work study supervisors, donors, board members and volunteers, all of whom played a role in helping these students complete this stage in their life journeys.

100% of this year’s graduates have been accepted to a 4-year college or university, and they collectively garnered more than $5.6 million in financial aid and scholarships.  This class proudly continues the tradition of 100% college acceptance for every CTK graduate since the school’s founding.

In his welcoming remarks, CTK’s President, Clem Martin encouraged the graduates to accept “the challenge to explore the power you have to better the world in which we live.” The new graduates have already started down this servant leadership path through their community volunteer, corporate work study, and academic & extra-curricular program participation while at Christ the King.

Class Valedictorian, and first generation high school graduate, Ravion shared thanks with those who supported her during her high school years, and excitedly looked forward to beginning her college journey at Boston College.  She reminded her fellow graduates that, “we decide what we want to do with our lives, and I can only hope that we all decide to set the world on fire.

Others receiving awards in the ceremony included Salutatorian, Mariah (Dominican University), and Grad at Grad honorees, Darayzhia (Arrupe College of Loyola University) and Will (Indiana University - Purdue University Fort Wayne).

It was a joyous day for all involved, but the best is yet to come for our grads.  Thank you to all who supported them while at CTK, and for helping to prepare these amazing young men and women for college and beyond.
