Become a Student > Overview

Welcome to the Admissions Department!

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Christ the King Jesuit College Preparatory student. Christ the King is looking for motivated students whose families could not otherwise afford the costs of private Catholic high school.

Our school is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2008 for freshmen only.  In order for you to become a part of the historic, first-ever class of Christ the King you and your parent(s)/guardian(s) must complete four steps:

  1. Application
We will accept applications from current 8th graders only.  Applications will be available for download or pick up on December 3, 2007.  You can pick up an application in person at 116 N. LeClaire.  The application is saved in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. You may download a free copy of Acrobat Reader at www.adobe.com.  Christ the King does not require an admission test.  The application must be complete and include all attachments when it is submitted.  Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.  Applications can be mailed in or dropped off at 116 N. LeClaire, Chicago, IL 60644.  Completed applications will be reviewed for initial eligibility after January 14, 2008.  The application deadlines are as follows:
    1. Early submission deadline—January 14, 2008
    2. Regular submission deadline—February 15, 2008
    3. Extended submission deadline—April 11, 2008
    4. Final submission deadline extension —May 31, 2008
  1. Interview
8th graders who successfully complete and submit their applications by the deadline will move into this second phase of the admissions process.  Each candidate and their parent(s)/guardian(s) will be interviewed by a team of Christ the King staff members.  Parents and/or guardians are required to attend and participate in the interview.  Interviews will last approximately 30 minutes.  The Admissions Committee will meet after the interview session and decision letters will be mailed to the students.  Parents of students who successfully complete this phase of the admissions process will be invited to attend a financial aid workshop where they will receive a financial aid packet.  Interviews will be scheduled during the following sessions:
    1. Early applicants—January 28, 2008-February 8, 2008
    2. Regular applicants—March 3, 2008-March 15, 2008
    3. Extended applicants—April 14, 2008-April 26, 2008
  1. Mandatory Financial Aid Workshop
Parents or guardians of 8th graders who have completed an interview must attend one of three Financial Aid Workshops before they will be invited to register for the upcoming school year.   Financial Aid Workshops are designed to assist the parents with proper completion of the financial aid application.  Financial aid applications will only be distributed at Financial Aid Workshops, and must be completed on site.  Financial Aid Workshops will be held on the following dates (locations will be announced at a later date):
    1. February 23, 2008
    2. March 29, 2008
    3. May 31, 2008
  1. Registration
8th graders who successfully complete their interview and whose parents have attended a financial aid workshop will be invited to register as a freshman for the 2008-2009 school year.  The act of registering secures each student's spot for the upcoming school year.  Registration forms will be available in the Admissions office on April 7, 2008.  The non-refundable registration fee of $100 must accompany the form for the registration to be complete.  The registration deadlines are as follows:
    1. May 2, 2008 - non-refundable $100 registration fee is due.
    2. June 2, 2008 - new applicants only
