Meet our Students
One of the salient characteristics of a Jesuit school is the "Graduate at Graduation" statement that sets forth goals and characteristics that a graduate of a Jesuit High School should attain by graduation. There are five characteristics shared amongst all Jesuit High Schools: Religious, Intellectually Competent, Open to Growth, Loving and Committed to Justice. Christ the King has one additional trait -- Seasoned, Responsible Worker to reflect the unique nature of the school.
Potrait of a CtK Student: Andrew is... Religious
What do you want to accomplish while you're at CtK?
I want to get my GPA up to 3.0 or higher and get into a good college. I think it would open a lot of doors for me to get a career in life and be successful.
What does the “Religious ” characteristic of the Grad-at-Grad mean to you? How do you embody that spirit?
"Everything is possible for God." This quote really inspires me because without God, you can't go anywhere in your life. You're not as happy and successful.
What does being at CtK mean to you? What is your favorite part?
It helps me get a better view of the world as a business. I see the stock market [at CME Group]... All the numbers look confusing, but once you start to get the hang of supply and demand, it's incredible.
What are your dreams for the future ?
Before I came to this high school, I wanted to go into the marines - the adventure and the discipline. Now I have a broader view of the choices. As of right now, I want to be a chef or an actor. If neither of those two work out I would like to be a firefighter.
How have you changed since coming to CTK?
When I was in grammar school, I was a rowdy kid, but I was always focused. When I came to CtK, I put more attention to my studies. I still socialize with my friends and everything, but not as much, because the academics here are so challenging... So my focus has changed a lot since coming here.
