Hello there!

If we were in school, I suppose this site would be the lobby area!

The purpose of this open site (no password required to see this content!) is to communicate directly to my families. I want this to be an open resource for at-home support. As I find wonderful material that may help our students, I'll post it here! As this is my first year teaching at Christ the King, the content will certainly expand and evolve as I build our resources!

Feel free to explore all the tabs! You'll see that each class has its own area with more specific resources, notes, and calendars. Each class will also have links to its password-protected Google Classroom. These secured Google Classrooms are established for students to interact with me, each other, turn in homework, etc. It's like with anything that may contain personal information about students: it's in a locked classroom that we protect, both online or in person!

The safety of our students and families are our absolute FIRST priority - and so we launch our school year remotely. Although I am sad I can't have that daily, in-person interaction with my students (and you!) know that I am just an email away! Until we can safely return to our wonderful school building and fill the halls with the joyful noise of high school, we will absolutely make the most out of this situation!

I love what I do - and I am so very honored to be a part of this journey for my students! GO GLADIATORS!

Trying to take a "selfie", but getting photo-bombed by my dog, Dougal, instead.

Showing equal love to my beautiful girl, Sadie. She's a big love-bug.

About me

I am so excited to join the CtK family! I've been a high school English/Theatre/Journalism teacher and Assistant Principal for 13 years at Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock, Illinois. I absolutely loved my experience there, so when my husband and I moved downtown Chicago last summer, I had prayed I would find a new teaching-home at a school that taught the WHOLE student: mind, body, and spirit! God is good!

My own two children have "grown and flown" (which is why I now take too many photos of my dogs!) I think it goes without saying that I love reading and art - but I also have a background in theatre, film, photography, and journalism - so I'm sure I'll be exploring those with my students too!

I love all sorts of music - but absolutely good live blues music moves me to tears every time. I miss live concerts! If we were in the classroom, my students would also see that I have way too many Star Trek toys. It depicts the future the way we all hoped it would be eventually. It gave me hope when I was a kid, and it's still my "go-to" when I need a boost.

I earned my BA in English and Secondary Education from Roosevelt University, and my MA Educational Leadership from Aurora University.
