CTK's Newest Sports Team - Tackle Football

The rumors are true – tackle football is coming to CTK!  Thirty plus young men and several dedicated coaches have been training over the last month in preparation for CTK’s inaugural tackle football season this fall.

“Part of Christ the King’s mission is to challenge and inspire our students through the combination of academics, work study and extracurricular activities,” commented Clem Martin, Christ the King’s President. “Sports in general, and football in particular, help to develop well-rounded individuals, possessing key skills like discipline, teamwork and leadership.”

Fielding a football team requires a significant investment of time and money. From equipment, helmets, and practice gear to associated coaches and staff, the startup costs are substantial. We are grateful to those who have generously supported this initiative to-date, and would welcome additional, greatly needed donations. Please contact Steve Holte at (773) 413-3509 or [email protected].

Head coach, Kevin Gallmeier went on to say, “While our boys may never play for the Bears, by being part of a football team, they are learning important lessons and skills that will help them to be successful in life.”

The Gladiator football team’s first game will be Friday, August 25th at fellow Chicago Jesuit prep school, St. Ignatius.  The rest of the first year schedule is still being finalized.  Please come out and support the newest Gladiator team.
