MORE WAYS TO GIVE

 Make a Pledge

You can make a pledge to support CTK to be paid at a future date or in a series of installments. You can specify when you would like to be reminded to fulfill your pledge.

Guardians of Gladiators - Monthly Donors

Would you like to make 12 times the impact with your gift? By becoming a Guardian of Gladiators (monthly donor), you’ll help underwrite operational costs, like paying Faculty and Staff, providing instructional materials for students, and maintaining our fleet of vehicles for the Corporate Work Study Program. Visit the Guardians of Gladiators page for more information HERE.

Tribute or Memorial Gifts

Whether in memory of a friend or family member, in honor of a birthday, wedding or other milestone, Christ the King Jesuit welcomes contributions made in recognition of important life events. When a gift is made in someone’s honor or memory, the honoree or family member will receive a letter letting them know about your donation. The amount will be kept confidential. You will also receive a letter acknowledging receipt of your contribution.

Gifts of Stock

Donating appreciated stock to Christ the King may have significant tax advantages for you, since paying capital gains taxes are not assessed when stock is given as a charitable gift. Your stockbroker or tax advisor will be able to assist you in determining specifically how such a donation can benefit you. For specific information regarding gifts of stock, please contact Maureen at (773) 413-3509 or [email protected].

Illinois Tax Credit Scholarship Program

Offset your Illinois Income Tax bill by supporting scholarships for CTK students. The State of Illinois approved a Tax Credit Scholarship Program for low-income students. Individual and corporate donors can receive a tax credit for 75% of the amount donated to a Scholarship Granting Organization. Donations are capped at $1 million and individuals may direct their gift to support Christ the King Jesuit College Prep students. Many CTK students eligible for scholarship support remain on the waiting list for the current school year. Please see the step by step instructions on making a donation through one of our two preferred SGOs - Big Shoulders Fund or Empower Illinois. If you have questions or need assistance, contact Maureen Kelly at (773) 413-3509 or [email protected]

Matching Gifts

Double your donation! Many companies have programs that match the charitable contributions made by their employees. Some even provide matching funds to support employee volunteer hours.  Your company's Human Resources department can tell you if your company has a program and how to request a match. Conditions and criteria for gift matching vary by employer.
Your employer may ask for CTK's Employee Identification Number (EIN): 26-0556958.
If you have questions, contact Maureen at (773) 413-3509 or [email protected]

Corporate Gifts & Sponsorship

Many corporations have a vested interest in our students by employing them through our Corporate Work Study Program. Corporations can also support CTK students by sponsoring one of our special events, or making a tax-deductible charitable gift. We are happy to customize a sponsorship package to meet your company’s interests, mission, and target audience. Contact Maureen at (773) 413-3509 or [email protected] for more information.

Income Tax Deduction for Non-Itemizers

New this year! The CARES Act allows people who do not itemize their charitable giving to deduct donations to charity of up to $300 on their 2020 federal tax return, while taking the standard deduction. Married-filing jointly taxpayers can get an above-the-line deduction of up to $600. In the past, people who don’t itemize were not able to receive a tax benefit for their donations.

Sponsor One of CTK's Annual Events:

  • Spring Luncheon - May 11, 2023
  • Golf & Grill – June 9, 2023
  • RISE UP - October 2023
  • King of Hearts –  January 2024

United Way

If your company’s employee giving program includes United Way, designate your contribution directly to Christ the King Jesuit College Prep. Most local United Way programs also allow donors to specify a charity other than those listed. All you need to do is write in “Christ the King Jesuit” on the “donor-option” line and provide our EIN number, 26-0556958, on your campaign giving form.

Planned Gifts

Gift planning provides the opportunity to make a substantial philanthropic impact while maintaining assets for your family. The most common type of planned gift is the simplest - a portion or percentage of the donor’s estate.

A planned gift to Christ the King Jesuit through
your will has several advantages:

  • Charitable gifts made through your will are 100% deductible for estate tax purposes.
  • A charitable bequest may place your estate in a lower estate tax bracket.
  • You may specify that your bequest be used for the general purposes or for a particular area of interest.

Our development team welcomes the opportunity to speak with you about supporting our students through planned giving. Contact Maureen (773) 413-3509 or [email protected] for more information.

Host a Fundraiser to Benefit CTK

Help us spread the word about CTK while raising funds to support our students. There are a variety of ways to do this - the more creative, the better! An easy way to help is to add a charitable element to an event you are already planning. Other ideas include hosting an email campaign, a virtual run, or a golf tournament. Really, the sky’s the limit! We are happy to provide you with CTK materials and guidance to help make your event a success. If you are interested in hosting your own third-party event to benefit CTK, please contact Maureen at (773) 413-3509 or [email protected] for more information.
