On Friday, January 24, 2014, over 420 friends and supporters warmed our hearts and raised over $320,000 in net proceeds to benefit the students of Christ the King Jesuit College Prep at the sold-out King of Hearts Gala. good evening mr. holte talked about many of the things that we do at Christ the King but not Who We Are name is Jasmine and I am proud to stay here as soon by President as a freshman I would have never expected myself to be standing in front of you tonight I was very timid scared of a high school hold for me but here I am here we are I am here because of my sister who has always been my fiercest competition also my greatest supporter and champion thank you Jalisa thank you play my name is Julissa and I'm proud to say in front of you as a woman for others as Gemma has mentioned we were shy freshman year things really change for me after my freshman year when I participate in account called students today leaders Forever at first I was excited to spend a week away from my grandparents but that week open my eyes to new people and made me aware of the problems in the world that need my help  since then I have taken Kona School especially in community service I am proud of being a team leader on this year's summer trip of Appalachia service project through say Alyce Paris  cut off  it has given me a chance to Showcase my leadership on a project that affects so many people by making their homes dryer warmer and safer we are truly changing lives alongside the Nikolai and Carrie family who Jasmine I have adopted as our own Jaleesa and I have truly come out Michelle's while at Christ the King do this by so many support teachers especially mr. Boehner and dr. Barlow they have always encouraged can challenge us the final answers and think deeply as sophomores Algebra 2 mr. Boehner gave us the junior precalculus final when we both pass did he invite us to take geometry over the summer and join the advanced math class the falculty of staff at ctk have always been there for us and have pushed us the extra mile to do more than we thought was possible  K is more than just a school we have also mature so quickly thanks to the works corporate work-study program this program send students to companies to understand how business works and to gain work experience we are also running hot can adults in the Working World I love my job at Chicago Equity partners for my first day my supervisor Angie who was here tonight has been a great mentor  has been remitter teach me not only about task at work but she has gone above and beyond talking to me about College Study Abroad and life in general thank you my boss mr. Lynch is also writing me a recommendation for Loyola University through my four years I have Alexian Brothers Medical Center usbank.com on Gossett law firm and now at McCaffrey interest I have a lot of business cards this year I have learned a lot about real estate and property-management I help manage the social media channels which day you the Target customers and I update documents for them I am interested in becoming a big hair start by releases and law books diverse work experience we have gotten while at Christ the King will serve as well going forward  as we look to their as we look towards the future how to become a pediatric surgeon because I like science medicine and children plus I read the medical dictionary for fun I see it as a way to get back in one day hope to help children in third world countries who suffer from a lack of medical care I have already been except what's the Saint Mary's University University of Dayton Xavier Marquette DePaul and Fairfield and I am waiting and I am waiting to hear from my University  I have already been accepted to Loyola and waiting to hear back from and I am waiting to hear back from their Dane Grinnell and Boston College among others I hope to become a lawyer because I love arguing debating improving other people songs to rhetoric  Delisa knows I'm talking about and so do I grandparents  we have live with them on and off since we're born in full time since 8th grade they have always been there and where the first people instill our love of knowledge asking questions and find out why things were the way they were  our grandfather has also Foster a strong Catholic faith in us every Sunday at San Martin de Porres when we were younger we will mimic his prayers after communion his face has aspired us to share the faith we have today with others through service and involvement as Altos Eucharistic ministers in Sunday school teachers because of our grandparents we are who we are today thank you Grandpa and Grandma we would like to thank falculty in south of Christ the King for the constant support and encouragement finally thank you all for listening to our story this evening thank you for playing supporting our journey through Christ the King and for helping our peers and classmates on their own path thank you for supporting this cool with assistance and help develop them as Leaders who are men and women for others thank you and goodnight
